GEESE

ROCK / ART ROCK

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK

New York has never been short on talented bands pumping out music, a lot of which often times goes unheard of. Just this past year alone, cab ellis came to our attention and became sort of a best-kept-secret amongst nbt’ers. bUT FOR EVERY cAB eLLIS, THE CITY NEEDS A TORCHBEARER AND IT SEEMS LIKE RIGHT NOW THE HYPE BEHIND frontman Cameron Winter and his bandmates in Geese is at an all time high.

tHE BAND RELEASED A FANTASTIC ALBUM IN 2021 TITLED PROJECTOR THAT PUT THE BAND ON OUR RADAR, AND IN ‘23 THEY RETURNED WITH ANOTHER STELLAR EFFORT IN 3D COUNTRY, A BLEND OF ALT COUNTRY, ART ROCK, AND POST ROCK. IT WAS DARING, IT WAS FRESH, AND IT WAS A BLENDING OF GENRES THAT ROCK HAS BEEN THIRSTING FOR - SOMETHING NEW AND UNIQUE. THE BAND IS BACK WITH THEIR NEWEST OFFERING OFF THEIR FORTHCOMING ALBUM TITLED GETTING KILLED, WITH THEIR FIRST SINGLE “TAXES” AND THE chaotic free flow noise bender “trinidad”, which was released as the second single just a few weeks ago. if these first two singles are any indication into what getting killed will entail, i can thoughtfully say i don’t know what the fuck we are to expect… you can’t get much more different on the spectrum from the chilled, almost early 00s indie vibed “taxes” and the chaos and ruckus of “trinidad”. nonetheless, for all its tension, unique time signatures, freeform ape-shit lyrics, “trinidad” might be one of our favorite songs of the year.

with more to come once the album drops, we hope you take this as your prep to familiarize yourself with the back catalog. this might be the album that gets geese on the late afternoon/early evening close-to-headliner-at-festivals-2026 trail. a bit early to call it, but after the love 3d country got, the band is coming in with a head full of steam we haven’t seen in some time.
