MO LOWDA & THE HUMBLE

ALTERNATIVE / INDIE

long beach, california

the potpourri of the new generation of indie rock. mo lowda & the humble bring a bit of everything to their sound. if you went the blender route, your musical concoction would be a bit of rough around the edges stylings of kings of leon, the indie charm of rainbow kitten surprise, a dash of still-sadly-unknown-and-former-nbt’er mosa wild, and finally some of the indie twang that made my morning jacket indie darlings some odd years ago. and behold, there sits what you are getting with mo lowda.

the band made it on our radar with their 2023 self-titled debut album, which spawned favorites like “beachtown” and “kya”, but we anticipation shot straight north with the debut of the first song of their forthcoming sophomore full length, due out later this spring. the song, “canary”, is an atmospheric hypno-grove driver that swirls the listener on a melodic, spacy trip that would only be better overlooking a dark city from a 32nd oak floor apartment with a room temperature tempranillo. like the wine, the song carries itself with an acidy, psychedelic-like punch that just makes the moment. while we might still be a moment away from genre dominance from mo lowda, the industry and indie rock fans will be put on notice and the songs of mo lawda will make their way to your ears at some point if you seek it out.
