Look… if you drop anything along the lines of what we label as “brit pop”, we are going to love it. From The La’s to Oasis to The Maccabees and Doves, we love that uniquely perfect, fuzzy, and digestible sound. Enter: Slowlines.
Born from the ashes of mid-2010’s Brit band Sons & Lovers, the buzz around this rising duo/band is real. With a sound fitting somewhere between The Wombats, Feeder, Embrace, and Starsailor, it’s a literal rollup of all that is good about modern brit pop/rock. Raw, honest, atmospheric. Their fantastic debut EP, Keep My Head Above Water, dropped in February right before the global pandemic hit, derailing the potential for additional touring and momentum. However, the EP shined. With “A Bolt From the Blue” being an energetic 2003-like throwback vibe a la Editors to “Count the Days”, which carries a guitar tone that could rival A Rush of Blood era Coldplay, this is one of the best kept secrets of the year. Spotify took notice to the band, plugging the band on a playlist with 94,000+ followers. Sky is the limit as we head into 2021 for Slowlines.
